Kimberly Wyatt of Her Majesty & The Wolves
Kimberly Wyatt is an American born “renaissance woman” of the performing arts. She’s a renowned singer-songwriter, performer, dancer, model actress and choreographer. Having gained notable mention throughout her experience in the Pussycat Dolls, her new project Her Majesty and the Wolves quickly has fans anxiously waiting for their debut album release this May.
Wyatt started her career young as a dancer at the age of seven in the great state of Missouri. By the time she moved to New York at age 14, she was well on her way to receiving a prestigious scholarship to study with the Joffrey Ballet and Broadway Dance Center. After finishing high school in New York City, Kimberly Wyatt moved to Las Vegas where she auditioned to be a dancer in casino and cruise ship shows. Wyatt landed a gig with Royal Caribbean working a revue for two years. In 2002 she made the move to Los Angeles, turning down numerous offers that had arisen from her work as a dancer on the cruise ship. A budding star, Wyatt secured a job as a “Cedsation” on Cedric the Entertainer Presents, a comedy show put on by the famous comedian. Beginning to earn a name in the industry, she worked as a backup dancer in one of Nick Lachey’s music videos where she met choreographer, Robin Antin of the Pussycat Dolls. Wyatt’s talents were unmistakable and Antin immediately asked her to join the group.
Kimberly quickly created an image for herself within the group, trademarked by her standing oversplit–seen in most of the Pussycat Dolls music videos. Indeed interviews of Wyatt can be quoted as saying that “her leg has become a celebrity in its own right”–a true testament to her unique beauty and talent. With the release of Doll Domination came her first vocal solo in a solo song, “Don’t Wanna Fall In Love”. This prompted her to the front of the group, which she quickly and amicably outgrew. Wyatt was the second member to leave the group, after Jessica Sutta, and her reasons for leaving reflect a strong moral ethic regarding her art. She believes that “happiness is the most important thing in life” and realized that she wasn’t as happy as she wanted to be with the Pussycat Dolls. This determination to find true happiness through the beauty of art and expression can be found in Kimberly’s “Beautiful Moments” Dipdive beta (http://beautifulmovements.dipdive.com/). It is clear through this open collaboration and forum that she values self-growth through creation: “Together we encourage growth through love, compassion, and positive action.” Wyatt’s interaction with fans in this way proves that she is already making a strong and positive impact in the music, art and performance world.
In addition, Kimberly has had a successful solo career thus far through both television and guest appearances. Making her solo career debut, she was featured on “Candy”, a track by Aggro Santos, which was the lead track for the film Street Dance 3D and charted #5 on the UK singles charts. She is also one of the judges for Sky 1′s Got To Dance which premiered in January 2010. Wyatt’s involvement can certainly be credited to the positive feedback the show received as they begin production for a second season.
Incorporating her strong beliefs into her first original project post Pussycat Dolls, Kimberly Wyatt has started a collaboration with ex-Jupiter Rising member Spencer Nezey known as Her Majesty and the Wolves. After meeting in Los Angeles in 2010, the two started an organic and exciting relationship, Wyatt as the vocalist and Nezey as the MC and producer. In August of 2010, the duo released their first single, “Glaciers,” a free download on their website. The single also produced a music video directed by Jess Holzworth. After releasing “Stars in Your Eyes,” Kimberly Wyatt and Spencer Nezey are poised to release their debut album in May 2011. The group is self-described as, “a kind of electro-pop and house influences […] ready to put on a really good show.” Her Majesty and the Wolves has a lot of buzz and they are expected to hit the scene quite hard and fast.
